I am 40 years old. Married 15 years to my best friend and we have two fabulous children, Dylan 12 and Kate 10. I am a registered nurse at Parkview and I work with cardiac patients. I want to be a heather example for my patients and co-workers. I also want to help my children develop a healthier lifestyle so they won’t have the issues with weight that I have. I am so excited for this adventure and am looking forward to all the new friendships I will make.
YOU INSPIRE ME….KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK….GO BLUE !!!!!!!
Sunday – April 25th
Worked 12 hours Saturday night, slept for four hours – then got up to “run” my first ever 5K. I still don’t think that I can describe what I did as “running” but I wasn’t walking so that counts. Still can’t believe that I ran the whole way – thankfully my hubby was right there by my side the whole time encouraging me because I am pretty sure I would have walked if not for him!! He ROCKS!!
I think that is the farthest I have ever run at one time and it was the encouragement and support I have been getting from the people in this program that made me believe that I could do it! I seriously considered stopping several times but then I would think of how proud I would be to be able to post that I ran the whole way!!
I love that my first 5K was really a walk and I got to be the first woman to finish because everyone else was walking!! A boost to my confidence!!
Looking forward to a great week and can’t wait to run another 5K this coming weekend!!
Sarah
Thanks for the helping hand last night.
Good workout today, it only gets easier.

Sarah, I know this week was disappointing, but you are doing so good. Keep your head up and you’ve got this. Hey I am looking forward to the girls trip! LOl
Thanks so much for being a shoulder to cry on yesterday! You are a great friend and teammate!
Great job on your 5K, Sarah! I am so proud of you! Do not be defeated by this week. YOu seem a it defeated this week. When you have a low number that just means that it is time to reevaluate. Look at your food, your sleep, your stress level, your exercise, your water intake. What needs adjusted? Call Tracy and talk through your week with her. She is so awesome at helping to see what you can change! Whatever you do, DON’T GIVE UP! The number on the scale does not define YOU! The scale is a tool! You are a strong, caring, and determined woman! Remember that!
Go Girl! You are doing great! How are you working nights and coming in to work out so early! You sure are making it look easy! Keep it up!

I’M BACK!!!! Finally got the computer issue taken care of…so I will be able to post and comment!! YEAH!!
So very very proud of my Purple Teammates!! We all rocked the weigh in and now we all have some money to spend!!
Well – now is the true confession time!! I haven’t been utilizing all the tools provided by the amazing people who are helping us all change our lives for good! I have SUCKED at the journals…I have been eating right – making good choices – but I haven’t been writing things down…recording my hunger levels…or how I was feeling when I ate. I am not utilizing the tools so that I can then benefit from the input and knowledge of the people that could help me rock this program even more.
Tracy asked me last night what motivated me…I think for me what will motivate me is having the rest of you encouraging me to give my best in all aspects of this program. We are AWESOME at encouraging each other with the killer workouts – now we need to do the same thing with the eating portion. I will not work my tail off for 15 weeks to just gain weight back after the program is over.
So – I need your help….keep me accountable!! I want texts, calls, emails….just keep me honest!! I need everyone in this program to succeed – I know that I can’t do this alone! So – my cell phone number is 466-8585. And email is sktbarrow@gmail.com. Thank you for loving me enough to keep me accountable!!
Congrats on the big week! You can do this journaling thing and we all will help you!
You are AWESOME, Sarah! You are gonna wish you hadn’t given out your #! The journal is KEY! Glad to see you re realizing that!

Work hard this weekend, we need good numbers again!! I promise you I will do my part too!! Love you all!
Sarah,
Thanks for holding me accountable to you this morning! There is a possibility that I would have shut the alarm off and went back to bed if it wasn’t for the fact that we made arrangements to spin!
Have a great day and see you tomorrow for training with Becky!
Richelle
You looked absolutely statuesque this evening – so proud of you.
Sarah, I am going to do what you asked and I will keep you accountable!!!! Expect a call or two this week from me! You can do better than a gain and purple team as a whole will be back on next Monday!!! Your in it for life now!!!
Keep your head up, Sarah! We all believe in you! Keep doing your thing and you will see a great number next week! Talk to Tracy and a Trainer. Share with them what you are doing and get their suggestions on what you can change. I’ll be calling you!
Way to kick it today Sarah! You are doing great!
Sarah,
I am glad that we talked this morning about your food journals and your diet. Please make sure you are planning ahead before you go to work. Believe me, that’s the only way to really be prepared for your day. Yes, it will take some time the night before, but I know that you can do it. Make your 1.4 pound weight gain a 6 pound weight loss.
Stop eating so much dairy. Fruits/Veggies are your friends too! LOL
Sorry I was not at Wednesday workout, missed everyone
Crohn’s hit Tuesday afternoon
Spent all night in and around the toilet
