Whitney Wright

Season 2 Alumni

Hi! I’m Whitney, a season 2 alumni. Immediately after season two ended, I was graced with the presence of a beautiful little girl, Rhiley, who is now seven years old! She is my best friend, my world, and my reason for everything I do. I am a nursing student at the University of Saint Francis, and will be graduating in May this year! I also am a full-time bartender at Wings Etc. I love to play softball and be active in any way possible. I love to stay busy! I am really excited for this opportunity to participate in the Fort Wayne’s Smallest Winner again!

What an exciting week we had! I am so incredibly proud of everyone for completing the races this weekend. I didn't do as well as I had planned however I am so proud of myself for pushing through and being the first FWSW female!! The last 14 weeks have been incredibly rewarding. Not only have I regained some confidence back, I feel absolutely amazing!!  I have cherished every moment I have had this season. I am so thankful for being given this opportunity and I'm going to do whatever it takes to continue this journey. I know I have all the tools I need to succeed. I can't thank the FWSW team enough for giving me this second chance. I have formed a new family that I hope I never lose touch with. Thank you all for the amazing memories!!!

I have not been very good at blogging but I promise I will get better!! Life has been very busy. Between workouts, working full time, being a single mom, and studying for nursing boards, I have be exhausted but completely enjoy every minute I have with my FWSW family. There have been times where I want to turn the car around and head back home and sleep the day away but then I think about how much better I feel after those workouts. I remember how far I have come and can't wait to go further. People ask me if I will allow myself cheat days after the program is over and I tell them this is not just a 15 week program. This is how I want the rest of my life to be. I get excited talking about my nutrition  and workouts and want to share everything I do with anyone willing to listen! This program has changed my life in more ways than just health and fitness. I talked to my mom the other day and asked her to donate for the Vision Walk and much to my surprise, she donated more than necessary. I thanked her and told her she didn't have to donate that much. Her response was "I believe in some way, this program has helped get my daughter back and you can't put a price on that". I cried. She is right. You can't put a price on the life all of us have gotten back and the family we have gained. So from the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every person involved with this program. I have gotten me back and I couldn't be happier with where my life is headed!

What a good start to the week! Lost 5.8 pounds last week! I'm feeling fantastic! I have so much energy and am feeling stronger every day. People are starting to notice my weight loss and it feels so good! Makes the early mornings totally worth it! I am also starting to fit back into old clothes again! The workouts have been tougher but I love the challenge. Our trainers are awesome! There are not enough words to express the gratitude I have for all of them. Their unwavering kindness and motivation keep me wanting to do better every day. Thank you for keeping me wanting more!

The week didn't start out as planned with a low weight loss last week but I knew I had a lot going on last week with getting ready for finals. The week got much better on Tuesday when I started the day with some "extra love" and then a great workout after that! I finished my finals on Tuesday!! Yay for completing nursing school!! With family in town for graduation, meal planning has been a little challenging but everyone is very supportive. I can't wait for everything to settle down. I will have so much more time for extra workouts and meal planning!

What a great week! The Super Seven had some "extra love" this week but I can't say that I hated it! It really helped me to push myself harder through workouts. And Rick, I actually want to thank you for the sleds and stairs we did this week! It really helped with those hills during the 5k! The 5k was amazing as well! Im falling back in love with running all over again and it feels so good! I'm hoping for a better weigh in tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Happy Easter! This week was such an awesome week! The trainers kicked it up a notch and I couldn't be happier! Some days I dread that 4:30am alarm clock but when I get to the gym, I am in my happy place. Working out early in the morning sets every day up to be a great day! I am just loving this lifestyle!

First week is in the books! It is awesome to see how far FWSW has come! Being from season 2, a lot has changed but I am so excited to be a part of it all! This week was rough for me, trying to balance work, school, workouts, and my daughter but it will all be worth it in the end!
