Shane Araujo

Season 5 Alumni

Welcome! I'm Shane Araujo.
I'm the president and co-founder at 3BG Supply Co. I've been also referred to as "a total babe" from my wife, as well as "dad" and "dah dah" from my 2 little girls.
I like to keep myself very busy. It's the way I'm wired. I'm a strategic thinker, a planner, and a communicator. I love my work, building and executing. I also love spending time with my family and my friends (some I see as my family). I also love meeting new people and asking them 1,000 questions. I feel I'm very lucky to have my wife. She's 100% supportive of the program and it's great to have her with me while I do this.
I'm very thankful to be a part of FWSW Season 10 because I'm been here before, I've seen how effective it can be and I really enjoyed it. I plan on using what I learned before to accomplish my goals in the program.
I love connecting with people so feel free to say Hey if you see me around!

There are 2 things I've focused on in the last few months or so, and I would love to share those with ya'll.

1. I read a passage in the bible one Sunday and like it usually does, I felt like it was directed towards me.

"Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” - John 14 (5-7)

Obviously, you can take this in many ways. For me it made me understand the importance of trusting the process. Some weeks the weigh-ins aren't as strong as other but if you have faith and trust in the process the next week will be better and it's not worth it to stress or worry about it. Just keep working your ass off and the results will be there.

2. Love is a sacrifice.

This is very simple. There are so many reasons to miss a workout or cheat on a meal. Either you can put family or work, or extracurriculars in front of that hour in the gym and sometimes it's very easy to put things like family time or work in front of your health because family and work are very important. Here's the thing though. Say you loved to spend every Wednesday night with your son at his baseball practice. Do you want to watch him play baseball for 4 more years or 40 more years? When you think of it that way, it really puts it in prospective.

So. Do these 2 things. Trust the Process & Love yourself enough to make the tough sacrifices.

Such an amazing week. The workouts are the real deal. Cece and EJ have really been putting together some great workouts for us the last few weeks. I've also become obsessed with Rick's extra credit workouts before our main FWSW workout. I thought he was trying to kill us Friday morning. Seriously.

Saturday was interesting. We took off for our walk/run out at Deer Ridge and we were set to do a 7 min walk/3min run but we hit the 5min mark and I see half of the orange team, A Berg, Chuck, Scott and a bunch of other warriors take off in a sprint. I'm like "screw it, I guess we're doing this", so I take off with them. I will look back in 10/11 weeks and look at this moment as a pivotal point in my season. It felt so good to just let my body run that long. On the way back Sean for the orange team caught up to me and we finished the run together. His heart and determination to finish the run actually gave me a crazy amount of energy. Sean sent me a great message afterward but I feel like he gave me the motivation, not the other way around.

Regardless, Saturday was great. Let's see what this week brings.

Whew! Tough week. Seeing the .8 gain was tough to see but this week my wife has helped me make sure to take food with me to work so I can get my calories.

I will be back this next weigh in with vengeance.

YUUUUUUUUGE week. Here are some highlights and lowlights.

Highs

  • Had another decent loss this week. Very happy.
  • Starting to get to know some of the contestants.
  • I got some work stuff off my plate that was causing me to miss night time gym sessions
  • Love my squad

Lows

  • Caught myself slacking a bit towards the end of workout Tuesday morning
  • Katelyn hates my food journal even though I thought it was a strong contender last week
  • Because I was on the road I had to turn the journal in late which causes me to have extra credit.

All in all, I'm feeling like this.... #JudgeSomeone2017

Solid week. It feels great getting back into the swing of things.

I think I'm going to give my "Shane's Weekly MVP Award" to the whole Orange Team...those guys get after it. I really respect the vibe they give off....sometimes it makes me want to jump in and get involved in what they're doing or at the same time, tell them to calm down and "it's too early for all that".

I was really proud of my time this week during the timed mile. We are all so slow but busted our butts and it will be great to see the improvement over the next few weeks. I already started to feel my body change a bit. Whether it's my energy level, or just having a little pep in my step, it's a great feeling.

Had a great time this week and will be looking forward to the weigh in.

It was great to watch everyone weigh-in today. I remember that feeling and it's exciting. I'm looking forward to working out with my alumni group. I've known some of these guys for a long time.

We will be setting the tone. Watch.
