As a previous contestant, I know what each of you will be going through. I know the questions that are going through your heads and the apprehension of it all. You’ve started something that will affect your lives for as long as you live.

Best of luck and drink lots of water!

Dave, you ARE the king! It’s Marti here. Congratulations to all of the new contestants. You have been selected from a large goup of people for something very special. And you were each chosen because YOU are special and have someting unique to bring to the table, so to speak. As last years winner I want to encourage you all to listen up! DO WHATEVER THEY TELL YOU! The trainers, nutritionists, as well as Rick and Tina KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! No excuses, just listen and then do! Sunday begins a new journey for you. Your life will never be the same again! Good luck, I’ll be watching!

Good luck to all of you. As a former contest and member of the PINK team (hopefully you are split up in color teams again), I know first hand how much this contest changes your life. Although this is a weight loss contest, it is truely about much more. Take advantage of all that is offered and make this a priority in your life. I know what you are about to experience and I would do it all over again in a second.

Thank you FWSW for picking me to be apart of my new family- the Indigo Blues! I feel so blessed that I was chosen to part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I know it will be one of the hardest things I will ever have to do, but you know, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am so ready!

Im lucky to be apart of the Yellow Team! Good Luck to all! I was so touched by what everyone had to say this morning I was holding back the tears. Im so excited that Lord is giving me the strength to do this for myself and my children.

I’m tired but I have to say I’m so happy to be apart of this journey. Not only for me but to see the change if the rest of you. In just the few days it’s been I’ve learned so much and have met some great people! The most important thing that we could ever give the world is ourselves. That is why it is very important that we take care of ourselves. To discover, to tap into our potentials and to celebrate the unique and wonderful people that we truly are. We are all in the race to better oursevles but we are still here for each other. It’s amazing to be running this race with you all. Be all that you never thought you could, I’m praying for you all!! Blessings!

I love my team and not just my black team but everyone. Everyone is so encouraging and ready to support everybody else. We couldn’t have asked for better people to run this. We owe a lot back to Tina and Rick along with all the trainers and sponsors. Thanks to all and I can’t wait until tomorrow. God Bless!

This last week (Week Two) has been so hard to stay motivated, I’m so glad everyone has made it to tonight the weigh in should be worth the struggle. I found a new pain this last week, what used to be abs; I can’t believe their still there, thanks to everyone for the support and helping me through the second week.

  11. cbillings says:

  13. kingnm01 says:

I am so grateful to be a part of Smallest Winner. It is an awesome experience that is helping me improve my health and my children’s as well. I had an aha moment after our second weigh in Monday, where I did horribly. I was trying to regain control that I lost over time in negativity through food, now I need to gain control of food. Simple, yes, but still a breakthrough for me-with more to come I’m sure.

Much appreciation goes to Rick and Tina for a wonderful contest, our trainers: Becky, Tom, EJ, Amber, Mike and Jen, and our dietician diva; Tracy.

Thanks to all teams as everyone is so supportive and encouraging. And it’s really cool to see last year’s contestants come out with us and give encouragement to us also.

  14. Susie says:

Week 3…Wow! Time flies…I know what your are all going through and I am here if you need to talk, scream, or celebrate. I went back to my diary from last year’s contest and read something I wrote during week 3 that may be of benefit. Following is an excerpt from my diary.

“Tom told me something interesting that I guess I knew, but never really thought about. He said “growth” or “strength” doesn’t come when you first start the workout. It comes at the end, when your body is exhausted and you have nothing left to give. This is when the body adapts and becomes stronger. This is why it is important not to give up at the end, but to push your body to take one more step, punch the bag one more time or sprint as hard as you can for the last 30 seconds.”

You are all doing Phenomenal! Keep up the good work! Keep pushing through and the scale will take care of itself! You have so many people behind you praying, supporting and cheering you on! Keep Moving!
    Blessings! Susie

  15. nikki white says:

Why am I having so much trouble this week? It’s like I can’t say no to anything! In my mind, I’m saying no, but my fingers still gravitate toward that kit kat or chocolate chip cookie. Am I alone or is anybody having the same difficulty? It’s like we work so hard and yet I have to battle myself constantly. My demons keep trying to win over me. I’ve worked too hard to let them! Too many people have invested in me, too many people are waiting for me to succeed. I can’t let them down- I WONT LET THEM DOWN! If anyone has any suggestions, please help me!!!

  17. JenniLedger says:

  20. mika520 says:

I was told an interesting story at work about why Geese fly in the “V” formation. Geese fly in the “V” formation because they rely on the very front Goose to help them fly better. He sets the tone in the wind so that as he flys, the wind pattern changes and it drifts under the wings of the rest of the birds so they can in a sense glide over. They depend on him. The reason they “Honk” is to encourage the front Goose when he starts to get tired or slow. When a Goose is sick and can no longer fly- two other Geese always drop down with him. They either stay with him until he gets better and they can fly up again or they stay until the bird cannot go any longer so that he will not die alone. Then the two birds fly together to catch up to the rest. I just want to say that for me all of you are in my flock. I can not ever thank you all enough for giving that extra encouragement I need just before I’m about to drop out of the sky. I know this is a competition but I never feel alone. Someone always tells me I can when I’m telling myself I can’t. And when one of you slows down to keep up with me until I catch my “wind”- I owe so much. In the end, if I may be so blessed to win- it will not be my victory alone. I thank you all so much!

    Fellow teammates,

The last couple days have been the hardest for me, not sure about any of you, wondering who will be let go? I know for myself and hopefully for many of you I have created a habit, my husband and I are eating healthy without struggling to figure out what is the healthy choice. I plan to keep up this journey no matter what happens tonight. Please find the strength to do the same, we are all worth it. The stress of worrying will I be let go over the weekend, I found myself wanting to cheat, but realized, I would allow my son to have that donut, because I want him to learn healthy eating habits, and to create a strong history of the right foods, why wouldn’t I give myself the same rules over the last 10 years. I fought the good fight as I hope many of you did, I filled my weekend with great activities, the March of Dimes walk was amazing, Nicole watching you push so hard on the walk was truly inspiring, I know it was a mile stone for you, and I am so proud of you for the pace you kept. Watching your sense of accomplishment that brought you to tears Nicole is inspiring. I just wanted to say before tonight’s decision, welcome to life long changes, and great personal choices, we are as important as anyone else; we deserve to be Happy, Healthy, and Strong. I thought the quote below might be something for you to keep.

    God bless you all,
    Stacey

I have to admitt that I’m happy with my loss but I am not joyous about it. I feel like it should be more and without going an unheathly route, I’m at a stand still on how to fix it. I’m doing all I know and tend to let myself stress when it comes time to weigh in. All I can say is just when you think all is lost and your feeling defeat…just call on Jesus to comfort you, to guide you, to raise you up. We are all amazing!! Keep giving your all no matter how discouraged you get! In the long run we’ll look back and say..it was worth it! love you guys!!

ok folks…more song lyrics. I’ve always loved this song but last time i heard it i was leaving the gym. it’s a christian song but in so many ways can be applied to us saying goodbye to our eating habits..so long self!!

    So Long Self
Well if I come across a little bit distant, it’s just because I am
Things just seem to feel a little bit different, you understand
Believe it or not but life is not apparently about me anyways
But I have met the One who really is worthy so let me say

    So long, self
Well, it’s been fun, but I have found somebody else
    So long, self
There’s just no room for two
So you are gonna have to move
    So long, self
Don’t take this wrong but you are wrong for me, farewell
    Oh well, goodbye, don’t cry
    So long, self

Stop right there because I know what you’re thinking, but no we can’t be friends
And even though I know your heart is breaking, it has to end
And come to think of it the blame for all of this simply falls on me
For wanting something more in life than all of this, can’t you see

    So long, self
Well, it’s been fun, but I have found somebody else
    So long, self
There’s just no room for two, so you are gonna have to move
    So long, self
Don’t take this wrong, but you are wrong for me, farewell
    Oh well, good-bye, don’t cry
    So long

    Don’t feel so bad
    There’ll be better days
    Don’t go away mad
    Just go away,go away

    So long, self
Well, it’s been fun, but I have found somebody else
    So long, self
There’s just no room for two, so you are gonna have to move
    So long, self
Don’t take this wrong, but you are wrong for me, farewell
    Oh well, good-bye, don’t cry
    So long self

    farewell, goodbye (so long self)

Ok guys, I’m feeling a little discouraged this week. I don’t know what it is but that old feeling of just giving up is upon me. I know that I’ve come too far to give up but that old Tamika is lurking her ugly head. The results are not coming as fast as I would like. I feel like I have multiple battles going on right now. Not just weight loss. It’s that, but also work, family and I guess just life in general. Things that I thought I’ve dealt with have obviously not been dealt with. How do you change your life in 16 weeks? I’m just venting. I guess that’s a step because normally I would just go eat something. I just keep playing the Biggest Loser finale over and over in my mind. I want to be Tara so badly- but do I have her same dedication? I don’t know. Her starting weight was exactly my starting weight. I need to be Tara. I need to be a different person- I deserve it. I know God didn’t intend for this to be my path. Please God help me turn to you and only you for the help that I need to heal my heart. It’s such a lost and broken heart.

  31. mika520 says:

Don’t think I’m crazy- I just had to vent. Thanks for listening!

Hi all!!! I just wanted to take the time to say sorry!! Sorry for my “i hate mornings” attitude. The thought that I’ve brought any one of you down b/c of me breaks my heart. I do not want to ruin this experience with you all. You are all so strong and I’m so proud to be standing by you! We all have problems outside of this contest and I’m sorry for mentally bringing mine into the gym. Thanks for pushing me even when my mind is not in agreement. You ALL are amazing people!!

  35. satill says:

Hey everyone, I am so excited about raising money for the marathon, please take this time to find people to donate, we need to insure a healthy future for Fort Wayne. Think about how many people are inspired by our weight loss, if we can keep this going for years to come, this could touch thousands. I want people to fight this fight we all know how hard it is, and the depression associated with being over weight. This is a battle we are all winning, and helping another 25 people to win next year. Good luck in getting those donations, this is a life changer for someone we may already know or will know next spring, stay strong for them! Pass the Gift

    Great things come and go, yet this is just a beginning;
Just the introduction to great book… Let’s make it a great life…

Lao Tzu said about 2600 years ago that:
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
And another thing that he said was:
If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.
So we have done them both took a first few steps and changed directions to avoid ending up in a not so good place for our health, let’s keep this up… and make it a life time change…

    Remember..
Pain comes an goes, yet memories and friendships made in struggling times last for a life time.
First of al than you for all the encouragement and all the great support on my low days.
This has been a blast, almost as painful as boot camp, but only better; got to sleep in my own bed.
    You girls and guys rock.

As an older song named: Down Deep Into The Pain says…
You gotta go down deep down into the pain
Let it purge your soul like flesh to a razor blade
Dig down deep into the pain
Surrender, surrender, dig in, dig in
Put yourself down deep into the pain
Embrace the bliss of pure sensation
You can’t escape from the ultimate pain
So let your senses drift into Euphoria

Thank you again to Rick, Tina, and all the trainers and other people who made this possible.

I hope to see you around, I feel like I live at Spiece anymore, but what a place to call a second home.

    My very best regards,

    Love, lots of it… ;-)

You all are so awesome! I want you to know that I am committed to you all anytime you need anything. It was so great to see all you on stage. I know what you all went through to get there. The great thing is this is just the beginning. Do not forget you have all the trainers and each other for support.
I appreciate each one of you. I know that you all were praying for me. I would not have recovered so well without it. I have been diligent in prayer for you all as a group and for some of you who needed special prayer. I was kept up to date on what was going on without being there. Tonight during the video portion, I closed my eyes and bowed my head in prayer once again for you all. I prayed that each one will take what you have learned and would continue on your journey. This again is just the beginning.I know there are going to lots of great things happen in each of your lives. Be sure to stand firm in your faith, commitment to each other and your families.
I want you to know when I came to the Mini-Marathon you all made me feel so welcome and everyone was worried about me hurting my knee. You all are so caring, humble, and unselfish. It meant the world to me.

I look forward to providing training, advice, prayer, and friendship to each one of you.
Thank you for being loving each other and for loving me!

    Hebrews12:1-3
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

    God’s Best
