Although trained as a lawyer, I have been unable to persuade myself to move my exercise program to the next level.  That is why I entered to be a contestant in the FWSW program and I am thrilled to have been chosen.

My journey toward better fitness started in 2000 when one of my five sisters encouraged us to “age with vitality.”  For me that means achieving a healthy body weight and developing a healthy fitness level.

As the mother of five in a blended family, with a very supportive spouse, I have a big fan club and expect to make them so proud.

Facing your giants…

March 31st, 2009

Throughout this year at our church we are studying the life of David.  This past Sunday we finished a three week study on the battle of David and Goliath.  I wanted to share this story with everyone Sunday but thought that I could better express it in words.  No matter what anyone else tells us we have to face them for the most part alone.  Many people will give you words of encouragement, and some may give you words of advice on how to overcome your giant.  Others might do the opposite.  Either way we need to stay focused on fighting our own giant.  Once we start our fight we need to finish strong.  Don’t just wound your giant just to have it come back at a later time.  Finish your battle and then enjoy the satisfaction of your accomplishments.  Others will see you accomplishments and start to build their courage to battle a giant of their own.

Main points…..

  1. Start and win small battles
  2. Stay focused on your giant by not listening to others
  3. Finish your battle
  4. Enjoy your rewards!

Good luck to each and every one of you.

- Computer Tim :)

I have been married to Gary since 1991.  Between the two of us we have 4 kids and 4 grand kids.  I have been in the real estate industry for the last 25 years as a Realtor, loan originator, and appraiser.  My life has changed drastically in the last 4 years.  My mother had a stroke, I had colon surgery, my father was diagnosed with cancer, and I lost my mother in November 2008.  Good things are that I quit smoking January 2008, and we have new grandchildren.  My husband and I enjoy our cats.  We got a new one Christmas 2007 who loves to challenge us.  I gave up real estate and have been floating around part time jobs.  One that I love is installing window treatments.  It is physical and challenging.  My husband and I each have a motorcycle and enjoy road trips together.  After losing my mother to diabetes related illness I decided to get in shape, learn good eating habits, and to stop diabetes in my life to honor my mother, my family, and myself.
